WORSHIP

What can you expect in our worship services?

Westminster is committed to services which blend resources of the past and present.  We intend to preserve the richness of our heritage, while complementing it with more contemporary expressions of God-centered and Christ-exalting worship.  All elements of the worship service must be God-centered, Christ-exalting, and characterized by a reverence appropriate to the holiness, majesty, and sovereignty of our God, and by a joy and delight produced by a taste of the incomprehensible love and grace of God.

We believe that since God did not prescribe a particular order of worship in His Word (although He did prescribe the activities to be observed in worship), it is best not to follow one prescribed order of worship.   Following one order runs the risk of rote repetition by over familiarity.  Although there will be a periodic repetition of particular forms (e.g. The Apostles' Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Doxology, etc.), we wish to maintain enough variety and freshness in each service to engage the mind in thoughtful worship.

Worship Music

Westminster encourages our members to offer their talents in public worship by the use of various instruments which support our singing and praise to the Lord, participation in the adult and youth praise and worship teams, participation in the choir, and participation in other groups or individual presentations.
