On Thursday afternoon, June 25th, the session became aware that one of our church family had tested positive for COVID-19.  This person had contact with family members who were subsequently in contact with other members of the church during the week.  Immediately upon discovering this information the Session and Diaconate met Thursday night and have decided to cancel in-person worship services for this coming Sunday, June 28th.  We are making this decision out of an abundance of caution because of a concern over potential exposure to COVID-19 within our congregation.
The individual who tested positive is in self-isolation and their symptoms have already subsided substantially.  The other family members are trying to get tested as soon as possible.  All members who may have had secondary contact with the family members have been notified and have been encouraged to monitor themselves.  So far, no one else has demonstrated any symptoms.
If any of you have any concerns about your own potential for exposure, please contact your family doctor about what you should do.  You are also encouraged to speak with your shepherding elder if you would like to ask any questions or express any concerns.
We hope and pray we can reconvene in-person worship in one or two Sundays and we will keep you posted as we evaluate what transpires in the days ahead.  In the meantime, we will continue to offer adult Sunday School by means of Zoom and we will continue to broadcast the morning and evening Sunday services by means of the livestream, which you can access here.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Your session and diaconate are committed to your health and safety (both physically and spiritually). Lord willing, we will be able to reconvene again next Sunday.  Please continue to check the website for updates.
