Family and Youth Ministry

Youth Sunday School
Our Youth Sunday School will be studying through the doctrine of the Trinity using The Trinity: An Introduction by Scott Swain. In this book, "Scott Swain examines the doctrine of the Trinity, presenting its biblical foundations, systematic-theological structure, and practical relevance for the church today." Please join us in the Choir Room on Sundays at 9am!

NextGen
Our weekly youth group (6th-12th graders) will coincide with our church's midweek service on Wednesdays from 5:15-7:00pm. Join us for a church-wide fellowship meal, followed by games, singing, and a lesson through the Westminster Shorter Catechism in the Youth Room beginning January 14, 2026.
What is a Family and Youth Ministry?

It's a Purpose
We believe the purpose of a Youth and Family Ministry is to bring glory to our great God through the work of making disciples of the next generation in our church and our neighborhood.
It's a Philosophy
We believe that making disciples of the next generation is primarily the responsibility of parents in their individual homes. However, we also believe that God has graciously provided the church family to equip, encourage, intercede, and collaborate in that work of raising children. Additionally, we believe that our neighborhood is ripe with youth from unbelieving homes, whom we can reach with the gospel and disciple, despite not having Christian parents.
It's a Program
We believe in having regular Sunday school classes for both youth and their parents, as well as offering weekly meetings, service projects, evangelism and outreach opportunities, times of fellowship and more to foster both learning and living out the gospel.
It's a People
We believe this is a collective effort of our congregation, not just the parents of middle and high schoolers. We want this to be a program where staff, volunteers, and parents have partnered together, in a network of friendships across the generations of our church, to serve our families.
It's a Privilege
We believe it is a privilege to mentor the younger generation, share the gospel with someone from an unbelieving home, celebrate the work of discipleship, encourage a weary parent, and have a friend who you can call upon for prayer. These things are all part of the abundant life that Jesus promised to those who follow Him.
What is our mission?
To equip, encourage, and intercede for believing parents and their covenant children
To evangelize and make disciples of youth from unbelieving homes, and, by extension, their families
To collaborate in the work of making disciples of the next generation of our church and of our neighborhood
Why do we call it “NextGen"?
At Westminster, we call our youth ministry “NextGen” because our ambition is to make disciples of the next generation of our congregation and our neighborhood.
What are the grades for NextGen?
All 6th-12th graders are welcome to attend both Youth Sunday School and NextGen
