Faith Promise

The Cornerstone of Missions

What is Faith Promise?
The grace of giving is one of the most amazing blessings of the Christian life. Throughout both the Old and New Testaments God reveals that His people are to be the resource channel for His gospel reaching all the nations of the earth.  “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’ (Romans 10:14-15).”

We use the term “Faith Promise” for any funds designated to world missions.  An annual Faith Promise pledge is a prayerful, personal, and private vow to give a specific amount above your normal tithe which will go directly to our church’s mission fund.  “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor 9:6-7).”

At Westminster, our Missions Ministry Team is tasked with strategically managing the Faith Promise funds designated for world missions and to distribute these funds to the missionaries and ministries approved by the Session and who are named in this Prayer Booklet, along with any one-time gifts, such as Short-Term Missions approved by the Missions Ministry Team and the Session.  Faith Promise pledges and Missions gifts are kept anonymous, except to the Treasurer.

When you make a Faith Promise Pledge please make sure to note your donation as such so the office knows where to direct your gift.
